At Galax High School it is important that our students learn to be open to the world, while viewing its events, ideas and phenomena with a critical eye.  We want them to see, feel and understand more.  We want them to grow in stature and character.  We want our students to walk across the stage of graduation into the world with the skills to find success and happiness in all they do.   The mission of Galax High School is to maximize a student's potential in a safe learning environment by drawing on the resources of our community to provide students with enhanced skills, knowledge, and character so all students become responsible and productive members of society.
